The Gorgeous Ingredient is often thought to be me referring to myself, but in actuality it reflects the element that every single woman brings to life herself. It is her inner beauty, her essence, her very being. The Gorgeous Ingredient is YOU, the essential element to this beautiful gift we call life.
Now, to tell you a little bit more about me. My name is SanTara Cassamajor, affectionately known as @TheGorgeousIngredient and @TheGorgeousBlog across social media platforms, and thus beauty events and meetups where people can finally put a face to a post. I was born and raised in Boston, and despite the bitter cold, I’m in love with the shores of Cape Cod and other New England coastlines. I am a beauty professional with over 20 years’ experience in the industry, specializing in hair, makeup, social media management, and product training. I’ve always had a love for beauty, giving family members makeovers and becoming their on- call hairstylist as early as 7 years old. I knew that it was a gift that I was innately given, and pursued it with purpose. My hunger for education and the eagerness to cultivate my craft has earned me both an Associate Degree in Fashion Merchandising and a Bachelor of Science in Cosmetology. It’s an amazing and rewarding journey that I just can’t contain. I love to enlighten, inspire, and empower others, especially young girls. I often facilitate workshops with groups of young girls, on topics ranging from self-esteem, body image, professional development, networking, amongst a host of other issues that affect young girls today. They hold a special place in my heart, because as they grow into women, I want nothing more than for them to know the power they hold and to own it.
Outside of my work as a beauty professional, I am a stay at home mother and wife. We are a silly family, there’s literally never a dull moment in my household. We love movie nights, non-stop laughter, and dance offs (don’t come for me in the Wii Michael Jackson Experience because… *magic fingers* I’m Bad!) Like me, my guys (I’m the only girl in the house) love the beaches so you can find us laid out at a local spot like four golden flapjacks as we unwind from our busy days.
